Building Inspection

The Building Inspections Division provides inspection services for all new construction activities. New construction can include single family structures, remodels or additions, as well as all commercial and industrial construction.

This Division provides inspections in the following areas: framing, plumbing, mechanical, fire safety, footing, and foundation. In addition to inspections, the division is also responsible for coordinating the City's addresses in conjunction with the Fire and Police Departments, administering the City's floodplain program, and ensuring that each structure and building within the City is in compliance with local, state and Federal development and construction codes.

The Building and Inspections Division recently unveiled a revised building permitting procedure and after-hours inspection line. This innovative procedure will provide not only accurate inspections of all new structures, but also a more timely review and approval process for new building permits.
