Children's Story Time
Story Time is held every Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. for approximately 45 minutes.
Laura Flynn, a local resident for over 5 years, designs the programs presented. Originally from Tulsa, Laura has a Master's Degree in Early Childhood, and taught preschool and elementary children for more than 30 years. According to Laura, the program is very structured with a kind of preschool classroom environment, which the children need and love. She also teaches reading and math readiness by modeling activities for parenting skills.
In addition to providing the kids with a great library experience, Story Time has created a community of support, branching off into friendships between parents and playgroups for the children.
Although Story Time is geared for preschoolers, all age groups are welcome. In fact, the group often consists of children ages 2-7, including many householders.
If anyone is interested in volunteering for Story Time and helping Laura with the fantastic work that she does, please contact the library.
