City Reviews Impact Fee Reports

The City of Siloam Springs is currently reviewing an Impact Fee Analysis and a Water and Sewer Analysis.  The analysis was completed by Tishler Bise, national experts in impact fee issues.

Impact fees are a one-time fee applied to new residential and commercial developments to cover the cost of infrastructure and related services that will be provided by the local government. The fees cover costs that

the public would otherwise be responsible for. When implementing impact fees, cities generally want the fees to represent a fair and proportionate share of the cost of parks, roads and utilities, along with drainage and public safety facilities. Impact fees are a financial tool used by many other towns and cities in northwest Arkansas.

There is no timeline or deadline for any implementation of impact fees.  We are simply reviewing the recommendations made in the analysis.  Any potential implementation of impact fees would be given much review and discussion with the Siloam Springs Board of Directors, the development community, and City staff.
