At approximately 10:54 on Tuesday, June 12th, members of the Siloam Springs Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 1050 North Britt street in Siloam Springs in reference to a gunshot victim. Officers and medical staff arrived and located eighteen (18) year old Chance Cooper with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and hand. The subject was responsive and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Officers with the Siloam Springs Police Department began an extensive investigation of the crime scene and located several items of evidence. Numerous interviews with neighbors and witnesses were conducted and are ongoing. Persons of interest have been identified and the investigation is evolving and developing.
The police department continues to receive an overwhelming show of support from the community by their constant tips and information. The Police Department is optimistic that as information continues to come in and the investigation matures, investigators will be able to close this case with an arrest or arrests and a successful prosecution.
