>Arkansas will be submitting its application to FEMA for the $300 a week enhanced unemployment compensation.
>UAMS modeling that was released yesterday (8/17/2020) Governor Hutchinson and Sec of Health Dr. Romero appreciate all the data that can help drive policy making. Can’t measure the true accuracy in terms of predictions because they don’t measure active cases. We should be paying attention to the hospitalizations. Peak has been modified in the modeling at least 4 times- which shows the flattening of increase of cases.
>Up 729 new cases to a total 54,216.
>Recovered 47,666, up 696
>Up 7 hospitalization to 499
>Up 12 to 631 deaths
>6,025 tests done in last 24 hours
>Active cases- 5,919= 38 nursing home, 961 correctional, 4,920 community cases
>To date in August= 108,581 tests. Goal was 190,000 PCR tests, 10,000 antigen testing
>CDC recommends testing 2% of the population every month, for Arkansas would be 60,000. Our goal was 120,000, which is 4% of the population. In July we were at nearly 7% of the population.
>ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) 1,210 COVID inspections. 90% of businesses are complaint. 113 violations, many of which are verbal warnings. 17% of those not in compliance have been issued citations.
>Ten counties with 20 or more cases: Pulaski 65, Jefferson 56, Sebastian 52, Craighead 33, Washington 32, Pope 30, Benton 29, Mississippi and Garland 25, Johnson 22
