  1. Read with Dusty the Therapy Dog

    January 22, 2019, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Library - Storytime Room

The main objective of the program is to provide a relaxed atmosphere that allows our young patrons to practice their reading skills. By sitting down next to a dog and reading to the dog, all threats of being judged are put aside. The child relaxes, pats the attentive dog, and focuses on the reading. Reading improves because the child is practicing the skill of reading, building self-esteem, and associating reading with something pleasant. Drop by the Storytime Room and read a story to Dusty.
